Danny: Look, I can explain-

Pariah Dark places a hand on Danny's shoulder, crouching down to his level (or as much as he can anyway) and giving the boy the proudest, most loving look he is able. "Son. I am so proud of you."

"Hah?" Danny asked, intelligently.

Fright Knight nodded. "I am as well." He even went as far as wiping an imaginary-no wait that's an actual tear. "It is just- It is so beautiful to see my nephew following in our footsteps." He sniffed, taking a handkerchief from... Somewhere, to further dab at his eyes.

"Hah??" Danny, once more, said intelligently.

"It is alright son." Pariah Dark continued, giving his shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "You did extremely well. Never let another say you did not. I am sure Time would be most pleased as well."

"What the fu-" Danny began.

"Language." Came the instant reply from them both as Fright Knight casually bisected an alien.

"Funny cheese puffs are you guys talking about??" Danny very shamelessly changed his sentence and went with.

"You started a war-"

"And cultivated fear."

"-Were you unaware?"

Danny blinked. Once. Then twice.

"Nuh uh." He said maturely. "I didn't do shii-" Faced with the glares of two angry parental figures, he very carefully chose his next words. "Ship. I'm innocent."

"He's even denying responsibility." Fright Knight dabbed away a few more tears and sniffed. "Truly, he reminds me of when you were younger my king."

"Haha!" Pariah Dark laughed, standing up and dusting himself off. "Truly! A prince after my own core!" Pariah patted Danny on the head, ruffling his hair. "Yes, my little 'ling is as innocent as he appears." Pariah winked knowingly.

Danny has some choice words for who let him know how to do that.

"Now..." War rubbed his chin as he looked out over the amount of carnage taking place in the city below from the fight between the aliens and the League of Justice. "Fear, do you think they would oppose to us joining?"

"That would depend on which side we fight for." Fear inclined his head, kicking a corpse off the side of the building they stood on. "Though I would rather not have this planet destroyed as we have an arrangement later this week."

"Ah, with Kents, yes?" War chuckled, cracking his knuckles. "Up for a wager, Fear?"

"What kind?"

"Least kills has to attend with no food."

"Hey wait a minute-" Danny tried to interject.

"This is not within my favor." Fear said calmly. "But I shall take you up on this offer regardless, my king."

And just like that, they were off.

Danny stood there for a moment, questioning if he should really step in and try to stop them. What would the Justice League say when the Ancients of War and Fear join in on a totally out of the blue invasion that Danny totally didn't have a hand in. How would the GIW react to this?

Then Danny thought. 'Wait, I have nothing to do with this.' And then decided this... Isn't his problem.

Then went back to sleep.

genuinely it's crazy how you can tell that ushijima's mother's family and their influence on him is like a fucking leash. like a goddamned dog collar. like something he was trained to wear. like, we see him with utsui before utsui leaves and utsui tells him good things!! important things!! things that wouldn't have made ushijima an asshole!! he tells ushijima that a strong team is one that has interesting people!! he tells ushijima that he'll combat all sorts of types!! strong types!! strange types!! new types!! he tells ushijima that these encounters will make him STRONGER!! the implication is that ushijima shouldn't believe he's the end-all-be-all because he doesn't get stronger that way!! he's meant to grow from acknowledging the strength of others!!

but then utsui takes off to the other side of the fucking world and ushijima is left with family who don't quite know what to do with him and don't quite understand him but still try to drill every bit of whatever they didn't promise utsui into his head, and the only space he feels safe in is where he meets someone who tells him that being strong is the only way to survive and it's the only out ushijima has, and so he grows up believing he cannot be anything else and that nobody should be anything else with his memories of utsui buried beneath a grave . . .

. . . until he's up against a boy who beat the odds he never could, a boy who helps him realize that there's more than one way to be strong, a boy who helps him remember his father, helps him remember no matter what you choose, wakatoshi, i hope you'll come to like volleyball, and ushijima thinks that, maybe, he's always had what he's been missing this whole time.

i was gonna make a whole seperate post about how context and art seems to imply that the ex boyfriend that got stephanie pregnant was at least 18, if not older, when she was 16/15, which is kinda squicky (i mean not if she's 16 really, but 15 yes) but in my journeys on the Stephanie Brown wiki (real and delightful thing that exists) i discovered the batman chronicles #22 where her UNCLE HITS ON HER???? i think that's what we're meant to get from it anyway the dialogue is subtle (the art is not imo). Her name is Kairi and she runs a very successful wine business in the old faith. She's like, the cuntiest lady you'll ever meet and she will absolutely spoil the ever living hell outta her spouses. (I have already thrown her at multiple other people's ocs in the server we're in for the shits n giggles)

Then we have my silly bastard Vex being a stuck up asshole and getting annoyed while they were "working" (doodling shamura instead of doing the thing they asked them to do). I think they would've been very spoiled by Shamura and, as a result, became pretty entitled and bratty towards those they deemed to be below them.

And lastly we got my bitch ass Kallamar clutching his pearls in his dream based on a tiktok I saw recently ✨️✨️✨️

It’s one of the most stressful moments of your life when you play Little Hope blind, but on replay value the scene where John is (determinately) like “Leave me and save yourselves!” at the house and Angela and Andrew are screaming at him and Daniel is in the background with his head literally in his hands is one of the funniest compositions of all time

      Parentage, role, and background has never played role in how Garp treated someone. What he sees is what he takes. It doesn’t matter if someones a janitor from G-5 or one of the Five Elders, Garp would’ve been happy to walk by without blinking if he weren’t stopped. He measures a person by their actions and their desires, what that person is now is what ultimately matters to him.

     And in the same vein, its part of why he vehemently disagrees with blaming a child for the sins of their lineage or those that they live with. He thinks its idiotic and has shown vocal distaste about it time and time again. It doesn’t matter if its a child of a celestial dragon, of a criminal, or of the pirate king. Kids are kids. They can still choose their own fates, can still commit their own crimes, if they insist. But to blame them for something they didn't even do? It makes absolutely no sense.
